When we first introduced water birth in Macedonia, which is still performed only at Plodnost Hospital, our goal was to provide women with a calmer, safer and less painful birth. Water helps the body naturally adapt to the process, reduces pain and allows for greater relaxation, while the baby comes into the world in an environment that resembles the mother's womb.
