Laparoscopic cerclage placement

Laparoscopic cerclage placement before and during pregnancy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that we regularly perform at the Fertility Hospital and that helps strengthen the cervix in women at risk of cervical insufficiency and premature birth.

We place it in the following cases:

• Before pregnancy – in women with a history of spontaneous abortions in the second trimester or a very short cervix.
• In early pregnancy, most often before 12-14 weeks for permanent pregnancy protection.

Advantages of laparoscopic cerclage:

• Stronger and more stable protection than vaginal cerclage.
• Lower risk of infection and less trauma to the cervix.

This technique significantly increases the chance of successful pregnancy in high-risk women.
