IVF Success Story – Diana Chose Plodnost Instead of a Canadian IVF Centre

Diana Mitrova is 33 years old and from Veles. She works for a Canadian IVF centre yet chose to place her trust in a North Macedonian clinic for one of the most important decisions of her life. Her choice led her to Hospital Plodnost.
After three years of marriage and failed attempts to conceive, multiple unsuccessful IUIs and a rejection from the national health fund due to a requested laparoscopy, Diana came to Plodnost. She had a consultation with Dr Tashe Trpchevski who determined that laparoscopy was not needed and she could proceed directly with IVF.
During embryo transfer, two embryos were placed. One divided, leading to a triplet pregnancy with high risk. Two embryos shared one amniotic sac, while the third developed separately.
At nine weeks of gestation, the team at Plodnost made a difficult yet medically precise decision. They performed selective embryo reduction to protect the mother and ensure a healthy pregnancy. Diana consulted with colleagues from her Canadian clinic, who were surprised by the timing. In Canada, such interventions are usually done in the twelfth week. But here, acting earlier made the difference.
The procedure went smoothly and the pregnancy continued without complications. Nine months later, Diana gave birth naturally. She shared that until the last moment she was unsure if it would be a caesarean, but Dr Tashe gave her the confidence to go ahead with a natural delivery.
She says, “The support from the entire team gave me strength. Dr Kristinka and nurse Snezha were with me at every step. Not only as professionals but as truly compassionate people.”
At Hospital Plodnost, medical precision, human care and experience come together to offer the most trusted IVF journey in North Macedonia.
