Hospital Plodnost Celebrates International Nurses and Midwives Week with Gratitude and Pride

From May 5 to 12, Hospital Plodnost joined the global celebration of International Nurses and Midwives Week – a time to honour the compassion, skill and quiet strength of those who care for patients day after day.
As part of our celebration, three remarkable women from our team shared their experiences, research and personal stories, reminding us why nursing and midwifery are at the heart of modern medicine.
Sneshka Dmitrovikj, a registered nurse, spoke about the emotional role nurses play in the IVF journey – from the first appointment to the most uncertain waiting moments. She highlighted the importance of continuous communication, empathy and the ability to stand beside each patient both as a professional and as a human.
Merlinda Drala, a registered nurse midwife, delivered a moving presentation on her daily role in supporting mothers through childbirth with epidural analgesia. She emphasized that midwives are guardians of safety, dignity and emotional connection, present from the first contact until the baby is in the mother’s arms.
Suzan Drala, a registered nurse, shared key insights from neonatal care, particularly for IVF newborns. She spoke about managing early risks such as prematurity, hypoglycaemia and jaundice – and how with gentle, consistent care, these babies thrive in our hands.
We also extend our deep thanks to Head Nurse Rebeka Aleksovska for her leadership and for organizing this meaningful event, giving visibility and recognition to the often unseen efforts of our clinical staff.
At Hospital Plodnost, we believe that real progress comes from people who invest their hearts, minds and hands every day. Our nurses, midwives, technical and administrative staff are the foundation of our patient care. Without their dedication, none of our milestones would be possible.
With this message, we honour and thank them all.
To our nurses and midwives – you are the soul of our system, a symbol of care, strength and humanity. Your role is irreplaceable. You are our strength, and our future.
