Cervical Myoma Successfully Removed While Preserving Fertility with 3D Laparoscopy at Hospital Plodnost
When precision, advanced technology and surgical expertise come together, the results can be life-changing. At Hospital Plodnost, using advanced 3D laparoscopic technology, we successfully removed a cervical myoma in a young patient while fully preserving her fertility.
The procedure was performed by Dr Hristijan Trpchevski using next generation 3D laparoscopic systems that offer enhanced visualisation and surgical control. The patient, who has not yet completed her reproductive journey, had a diagnosed cervical myoma measuring between 6 and 7 centimetres. The myoma was located very close to the right ureter, significantly increasing the complexity and risk of the operation.
Through careful retroperitoneal dissection, the ureter was identified and protected in the early stages of the procedure. With excellent anatomical orientation in the retroperitoneal space and the use of advanced laparoscopic technique, the entire intervention was carried out safely and without compromising the patient’s reproductive capacity.
The 3D laparoscopic technology provides surgeons with greater depth perception, sharper image clarity and improved manoeuvrability when operating in delicate areas. This approach makes it possible to treat complex conditions that previously required open surgery, now with minimal invasiveness, faster recovery and reduced postoperative complications.
The patient is expected to leave Hospital Plodnost the following day and resume normal daily activities. Most importantly, her fertility remains fully preserved and her chances for future pregnancy are intact.
