Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in 2025 Complex Cases Performed by Dr Hristijan Trpchevski and the Team at Hospital Plodnost

In the first quarter of 2025, we continued to raise the standards of minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. With a personalised approach for every patient and the use of the most advanced laparoscopic technology, Dr Hristijan Trpchevski and the team at Hospital Plodnost successfully performed a series of highly complex procedures that demonstrated surgical excellence, precision and innovation.
Key laparoscopic procedures performed so far this year
Para-aortic and pelvic lymphadenectomy
Performed in patients with early stage ovarian or endometrial cancer. Involves precise dissection near the aorta, vena cava and large pelvic vessels.
Sacrocolpopexy
The gold standard for treating vaginal vault prolapse. Involves fixing the vaginal apex to the sacrum to restore anatomical support.
Pectopexy
An alternative to sacrocolpopexy, used for uterine suspension. Fixation is made to the iliopectineal ligament and is ideal for women wishing to preserve the uterus.
VNOTES hysterectomy
A scar-free laparoscopic technique that allows removal of the uterus through the vaginal canal without abdominal incisions.
Complex myomectomy with uterine preservation
Performed on myomas ranging from 2 to 15 centimetres, including multiple and deep intramural fibroids. Endometrium and fertility are fully preserved.
Laparoscopic cerclage in pregnancy
Indicated for cervical insufficiency to prevent preterm birth. Requires high precision and planning.
Deep infiltrating endometriosis treatment
Involves cases where endometriosis affects the bladder, ureters or bowels. These surgeries often require combined gynaecological, urological and colorectal laparoscopic teams.
Hysterectomy in uteri as large as the umbilicus
Performed entirely laparoscopically, avoiding open surgery even with large uterine masses.
Surgery in patients with high BMI or abdominal adhesions
These cases demand advanced skills and a precise approach due to restricted space and complex anatomy.
Retroperitoneal tumour removal
Includes supracervical hysterectomy where the cervix is preserved and surrounding organs are carefully protected.
Cyst removal and tubal opening in infertile patients
Minimally invasive procedures designed to improve natural fertility.
Retroverted uterus pexy
Fixation of the uterus into its anatomical position to improve symptoms such as pain or infertility.

Our commitment continues
What unites all these cases is the personalised preoperative plan, protection of reproductive structures and the use of cutting edge laparoscopic methods. For us, laparoscopy is not just an alternative, it is the standard for advanced surgical care.
Dr Hristijan Trpchevski and the team at Hospital Plodnost remain committed to delivering the highest level of advanced laparoscopic surgery in North Macedonia.
