Contemporary prenatal care is essential for all expectant mothers to ensure the healthy development of their pregnancy. The process begins with the confirmation of a normal intrauterine pregnancy during the first consultation. Follow-up care continues with subsequent examinations, including fetal anatomy surveys, fetal echocardiography, and more. Various laboratory and instrumental examinations, such as biochemical screening, non-invasive prenatal testing, and cardiotocography, are carefully planned throughout the pregnancy. Preparation for the mode of delivery is also discussed as the pregnancy progresses. Prenatal care concludes after the first 40 days of the postpartum period.
