12 NEWBORN SMILES – A DAY FULL OF LIFE AT PLODNOST

Every day until the end of June brings new joy to our hospital, but today’s Friday has been truly special. At the Neonatology Department of Plodnost Hospital, we welcomed 12 newborn babies, 6 girls and 6 boys – arriving into the world as the most precious continuation of their families’ love stories.
These little lives come from all across the country: Struga, Kavadarci, Krushevo, Ohrid, Prilep, Gostivar, and 6 from our hometown Bitola. Each story is unique. Every mother carries a different journey filled with hope, strength and love. And when that journey leads to a healthy baby crying and breathing for the first time, we are reminded why we do this work with heart, every single day.
On a day like this, the Neonatology Department becomes a place where the sound of life blends with the care of nurses, the steady hands of obstetricians, and the quiet commitment of a team that gives its all. No two days are the same – but every day is meaningful. Especially when we witness 12 families expanding and finding new purpose.
What does this mean for the Plodnost team?
It means trust. It means that families from all over Macedonia see Plodnost as their safe space to give birth, whether they come from Prilep, Gostivar, or Kavadarci. It means that our care, expertise and compassion truly reach people.
What does a day like this look like behind the scenes?
It’s a coordinated effort between obstetricians, neonatologists, anaesthesiologists, nurses, midwives and support staff. From monitoring vitals and assisting breastfeeding to offering reassurance and recovery support every minute is planned, but always driven by heart.
Plodnost is more than a hospital
We are a community. And every new baby is not just a patient, but a new member of our growing family.
Today’s 12 babies are another beautiful reminder that life never stands still. That even weekends can begin with joy, the sound of newborn cries, and tears of happiness in their mothers’ eyes.
